Jersey Shore Beach Wedding at Ocean Place Resort Long Branch, NJ

beach wedding jersey shore wedding ocean place resort long branch

Lydia & Brian’s beach wedding at Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch, NJ was just stunning! The bright colors they chose for the flowers and Lilly Pulitzer designed bridesmaids dresses perfectly complimented the gorgeous summer day. Their love tory is also so sweet! Here it is in Lydia’s own words:

When you think about meeting your prince charming, you would never think to look in the comfort of your own home. I met Brian in the kitchen of my parent’s house, when I was 15 years old – sounds crazy I know. My older brother had come home with a friend, and introduced us. Our first meeting was something along the lines of “this is my little sister Lydia”. I had always been close to my older brother, since he was only 2 years older. I always would hang out with him and his friends. This friend was different –he always paid more attention to me than the others. Throughout time he became my brothers closest friend. He spent most of his time at our house. He attended my families annual summer vacation to the Outer Banks. Brian and I spent a lot of time together on that trip. I remember convincing him to bike to the pier with me, which was about 8 miles away. We went to the pier, just the two of us, and disappeared for hours. I remember him getting a text from my brother saying that my dad was freaking out because we had disappeared. So, we quickly biked back and returned to my dad being very upset that we disappeared. I remember my mom and grandma telling me that Brian was into me and I kept telling them “no you guys are crazy.” we are just good friends. After that vacation, Brian went off to his first weekend of military college. He and I talked frequently. When he returned that summer we started spending more time together. He came to our annual vacation again that summer and we spent the whole trip together. It was obvious to everyone that we were together, but because he was my brother’s best friend neither of us would admit to each other that we were pretty much dating. After that vacation he left for military college again, we talked every day until he came home. That Thanksgiving he came home and he finally admitted that he loved me. It still wasn’t until that winter break from military college that he finally asked me to be his girlfriend.

How he asked:

It was the sixth family vacation that Brian attended. He kept telling me that since we had so many memories in the Outer Banks he wanted to go around and take pictures in all of the places we had memories. So, he asked my mom to take us on a photo shoot. He took me everywhere we had memories, including the local ice cream shop, houses we had previously stayed in, our favorite coffee shop and many other places. The last stop was the Rodanthe Pier, where we had snuck away 6 years prior. It was there that he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I SAID YES!
